Information We Collect

The HonuFon app accesses your phone's call log, contacts, and incoming call information solely to provide call screening functionality. This information is processed locally on your device and on HonuFon's servers to determine how to handle incoming calls. HonuFon does not collect or retain this data for any other purpose. It is used in your app and by your app. It is never seen, sold, nor given away by anyone. Your data. Your control. Your call.

Specifically, what the app does collect:

• Your phone number and email address (for account creation)
• Incoming call numbers (to check against your whitelist)
• Your contacts list (to auto-whitelist people you know — names are never stored on our servers)
• Call log data (timestamps, actions taken — blocked, screened, passed)
• Voicemail recordings left by callers who pass screening (stored on our servers and delivered to you)

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not record or store the content of calls you answer
• We do not store your contact names — only phone numbers used for whitelist matching
• We do not collect your location
• We do not collect device identifiers beyond what Android provides for app functionality
• We do not use analytics SDKs that track your behavior across other apps

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to operate HonuFon's call screening and voicemail services:

• To determine whether an incoming call should ring through, be screened, or be silently blocked
• To maintain your whitelist and blacklist across devices
• To deliver voicemail notifications and recordings
• To track your weekly block count for free tier enforcement
• To send you service-related emails and SMS notifications (voicemail notifications, account alerts)

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to operate the service:

• Vitelity / VoIP providers — call routing requires passing caller ID to our SIP trunking provider
• Zoho Mail — used to deliver voicemail notifications and support emails
• Stripe — payment processing for Paid and Pro tiers (we do not store payment card information)
• Legal requirements — we will comply with lawful requests from law enforcement when required by applicable law

Data Retention

Call logs are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted. Voicemail recordings are retained until you delete them, with storage limits based on your tier. If you delete your account, all associated data is removed within 30 days.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@honufon.com. We will confirm deletion within 7 business days.

Children's Privacy

HonuFon is designed for adults. The HonuFon Pro Family plan allows parents to install and manage HonuFon on their minor children's devices under full parental supervision and control. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Security

HonuFon uses HTTPS for all API communication. Passwords are stored as secure hashes — never in plain text. Voicemail recordings are stored on secured servers with access controlled by your account token. We perform regular backups and operate on hardened server configurations.

Changes to This Policy

We will notify registered users by email of any material changes to this privacy policy. Continued use of HonuFon after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
